I’m just going to leave it at that, no assumptions should be made. The minute you saw/listened to this mix, I bet you’ve already made an assumption. Hahaha. IDGAF, I just want all of you to enjoy it/replay it. The cover art was taken from Jean-Luc Godard’s 1965 film, Alphaville: Une étrange aventure de Lemmy Caution.
Do you want to go to the plage with me? I’m going down-down-down there for the morning,
I’ve been listening to Crystal Fighters’ Star of Love lately. It’s quite hard to classify their sound to one category because for some songs they sound like Crystal Castles (I Do This Everyday), then there’s a track that contains some dubstep elements (Swallow) and there’s a track that’s indie pop (Plage). I suppose coming from different backgrounds (Spain & UK) they take on a lot of genres or at least they try to cover most bases. What I like most about them is how they incorporate the use of Basque instruments which makes their sound so distinct. Regardless of how arbitrary Star of Love is, it is still coherent and enjoyable. Listen to their final single, Plage(*)!
